We want to address some of the recent conversations circulating in our community regarding deer management, which has been an ongoing concern raised by residents over the past few years.
In response to concerns about deer overpopulation and herd health, the board invited a wildlife management professional to speak at the 2026 Annual POA Meeting. This was listed on the meeting agenda as an option for consideration, and that is exactly what it was: information, not a decision or a plan.
There was no vote at the meeting. What occurred was an informal poll of those present to gauge interest in exploring this further. Nothing has been approved. Nothing has been actioned.
The board is now gathering information and evaluating available options. If you have an option or perspective you would like the board to consider, we welcome it. Please submit to batteryshorespoa@gmail.com so it can be included in what we compile and share with the community.
Formal board meetings are open to all POA members with times and location posted on the website.
Approved meeting minutes are posted on the Battery Shores website and available for anyone to view.
Updates on this topic will be shared on the Battery Shores website as information becomes available.
